3. GROW (Growing Resources, Opportunities and Wealth) Project
GROW which is a microfinance project for supporting rural women most especially single mothers or widows to start income generating businesses for sustaining their families and educating their children.
The project finds a group of women who are not working, trains them in basic business management skills and gives them micro loans to start a business of their choice. The women are put in a group of six who are meant to support each other especially in finding solutions challenges to their businesses. Members in a group are not supposed to have the same business as this might result into competing against each other instead of giving support.
After the training which is conducted by a skilled trainer hired by TASAAGA, a group of six women is given collateral free loans of 100,000 Uganda
Great thanks go to Lisa

4.HIV/AIDS EDUCATION IN SSESE ISLANDS
Although there is a lot to learn from Uganda’s comprehensive and timely campaign against the AIDS epidemic, emphasising Uganda’s success story must not destract from the devastating consequences that AIDS continues to have across the country: personally, socially and economically. There are currently an estimated 940,000 people living with HIV in Uganda, and a further 1.2 million children who have been orphaned by AIDS.The aim of TASAAGA's HIV/AIDS program is to decrease the spread of HIV through raising awareness and education, increasing access to homecare, and providing emotional support to those affected by HIV/AIDS within the community. Volunteers/Interns in this program have the opportunity to work in a community HIV/AIDS organization to assist with homecare visits to HIV positive people, and educate and counsel community and school groups and individuals. This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person. Medical training is not necessary for all aspects of the program, but a background in HIV/AIDS and basic health care is an added advantage. For an individual the volunteer fee is US$100 per week which covers administration, accommodation with running water and three meals a day during work
5. MEDICAL CLINIC IN SSESE ISLANDS
Malaria, typhoid, pneumonia, and tetanus are treatable diseases, yet many still die in Ssese Islands as a result of not receiving proper medical care. Government-run hospitals and medical clinics are ill-equipped to handle the volume of people in need of care. As a medically qualified volunteer you can help by sharing your medical skills and working alongside local staff to provide those in need with basic medical care. Volunteers have the opportunity to work in the areas of general medical practice, maternal health, minor surgery, and laboratory work. This role is suitable for self-directed, caring people who are medically qualified. For an individual the volunteer fee is US$100 per week which covers administration, accommodation with running water and three meals a day during work.
