RECRUITMENT OF VOLUNTEERS

TASAAGA is a not-for-profit organization comprised of 95% Ugandan staff members and 5% International Volunteers.

DURATION OF SERVICE

Volunteers may volunteer for any length they feel appropriate. Generally, the organization prefers volunteers to stay at least one month. Generally, placements end after two years - but this is renewable.

REQUIREMENTS

International Volunteers

Persons of all educational backgrounds can volunteer for TASAAGA.  Certificates, diplomas or degrees are beneficial but not required to volunteering with TASAAGA.

TASAAGA Volunteers, must:

  • be at least 18 years of age (adults, couples, families, groups are welcome)
  • pass a criminal background check
  • speak, read, and write in English
  • be willing to work with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds (TASAAGA is not a religious charity)
  • be able to work under minimal supervision
  • be able to cover the costs of international travel (e.g. flights, bus. etc.), health insurance, and related travel expenses
  • contribute US$100 per week for project administration/accomodation, group discounts are available.
